What is Career Education 9?
Students are required to complete assignments to meet the learning outcomes of Career Education from grades 8 to 12. At Richmond Secondary, this course is conducted online for students in grade 9. In this course, students will explore a variety of learning outcomes that are related to their future personal wellness and career path. Students will explore personal development, connections to the community and career as well as educational and life plans.

Assignment #1 - Introduction Activity (Due Feb 7, 2024 @ 11:59PM)
In this assignment, you will be reflecting on your experiences so far at RHS, how high school has been for you and what courses you enjoyed or didn't enjoy taking. This activity is intended to help you think about what you are proud of and excited for. It will also help you to identify any subjects that you enjoy, what you don't enjoy and help increase your self-awareness.

Assignment #2 - Famous Person Interview (Due Feb 21, 2024 @ 11:59PM)
In this assignment , you will be exploring the careers of someone that you look up to. This activity is intended to allow you to learn more about different career opportunities out there, what success in that career could look like and think about different ways to get there.

Assignment #3 - Volunteer Opportunities (Due Mar 6, 2024 @ 11:59PM)
In this assignment , you will be looking into different volunteer opportunities that are out there in your community (school, community centres, libraries etc.). This activity is intended to help you think about possible experiences that you could add to your portfolio/resume for post-secondary and part-time job applications.
